They say that chickens are the gateway to a farming lifestyle, and boy are they right!
We officially caught the chicken keeping bug 2 years ago when we were given a flock of 11 chickens and one rooster. We were so eggcited ;) (Sorry I had to do it) to get these chickens, that after the coop was built (out of all free materials of course) we would sit outside for hours watching them. One of the most gratifying moments is when you receive your first egg!

Now we have a much, much larger flock. We have 38 chickens and roosters of assorted breeds now. You may be asking "Why would you need so many?" The answer to that question is we are crazy lol. No just kidding. We love to share with our family and friends.
We just picked up 22 new chicks for egg production. They are 6 weeks old and are a great addition to our family.
